  • Could you go into more detail about your organization?

    Anywaa Community in Minnesota believes that when people unite, change is possible. Ethiopian and Sudanese people have a history that runs deep and a connection to one another. We are taught from a young age that when we help each other, great things can happen. 


    The Anywaa people (immigrants) from two countries have formed community specifically in Minnesota. The members of the Anywaa community from both countries started arriving in the Twin Cities in 1990s. Most of them settle in the seven counties in the Greater Twin Cities area. Our community is made up of thousands of Ethiopian or Sudanese people. Let's unite together for a better life!


    The Twin Cities metro area has a population of between 15 to 20,000 Ethiopian and Sudanese people living in their community. These people are often immigrants or people who are underprivileged. Anywaa Community's goal is to unite the Ethiopian Community in the Twin Cities to improve the lives of this population. We connect organizations and individuals who can help the Ethiopian community thrive.

  • What causes does your organization advocate for?

    Our Anywaa community is concerned with the lack of resources that have been provided to its citizens in the Twin Cities. We work with individuals and organizations to improve the lives of Ethiopian people and families throughout Minnesota. We help families and individuals with issues of hunger, employment, healthcare, transportation, and so much more.     We partner with local organizations that are passionate about helping our community and preserving our culture. These organizations help those who are hungry, homeless, underemployed, undereducated, or struggling. When we come together, we can make a change!
